We’ve been talking about the sun lately. A LOT! My primary focus is that each of you understand the importance of the sun as an energy source for our planet Earth. We’ve discussed the different aspects of the electromagnetic spectrum, including radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, x-rays, and gamma rays. We’ve discussed how only the “visible light” part of the spectrum can be seen, but the sun emits all of these.
We’ve just begun to focus on seasons. Now that we have established what it is that comes out of the sun, it is time to talk about what happens to all of the heat that the Earth receives from all of this solar radiation. In fact, tonight’s homework is to ask at least one adult the following questions:
“Why do we have seasons?”
You must then record the response(s) and bring it in to be checked tomorrow.

i really didnt get the microwave are those the waves from an actual microwave? i asked my great grand mother why we have seasons and she said” oh well when our planet i forget the name gets closer to mars it gets hot and when its closer to jupiter its cold bye mr bent P.S its taylor

i asked my mom and she said that it was because of the earth’s tilt and then i asked my brother and he was like I HAVE NO CLUEE!!!!!

Mr.Bent the topic on the microwave stuff was very confusing to me but……I UNDERSTAND IT NOW THANKS FOR MAKING LIFE SIMPLE YAY!

I never inderstood the electromagnetic spectrum untill now. I learned that a microwave comes from the sun ,it’s not only the kind that hats up food LOL!!!There are also gamma rays ,the most dangerous we’ve talked about and would be life threatening to all living things but some bacteria could survive deep under ground.The others are radio waves, infared, ultra violet ,x-rays and visible light. The other thing we are talking about is seasons. We have seasons because of the way the Earth tilts on it’s axis, so the sunlight hits us at different angles causing seasons. Last when we have Winter the Southeren Hemisphere has Summer, when we have Fall(or Autumn) the Southern Hemisphere has spring. You can reverse it and when they have Winter we have Summer and when they have Fall(Autumn) we have Spring.

my dad said that we have summer when the earth is closer to the sun and when we have winter the earth is farther away from the sun than I asked my mom and at first she agreed and than she said it was because of the way the earth tilts. Also I never understood the electromagnetic spectrum untill now. My dad has knoew clue

Iasked my counciler and she said because the earth rotates on a tilted axis and can face the sun.
